the good news!
Father gave us (yes, us YAC members/committee) permission and mandate to form the age 17-25 youth group. But FIRSTLY, we need to plan a gathering (similar to the one we did) and create general plans for next year. We are given deadline before christmas to have this gathering to recruit members to join our aged 17-25 church youth group. SO, NOW we have to form a team to plan the gathering.
According to father, we will be given full support from him and we can even ask him and discuss with him the planning (ie: ask him how many youths in Jesus Caritas between the age 17-25 from the church census, owh, and we can even have the gathering at his place!). In Victor's own words, "father said the church youths ( which he said is not youth group but a group of frens ) are informed of this". so yay!:)

the bad news!

we have to stop relying on Uncle Ben and Aunty Margeret. but not entirely stop la, maybe we can call them to give talks and help us do workshops/camps and stuff.
NO MORE USING Young Ambassadors For Christ.
okay, i fell real sad for this, as we had banners and stuff. so i was thinking, maybe we could like still keep the name just for our sake? you know, a bunch of friends-members of YAC. we won't use the word, "members" but, we're just a bunch of friends, and we call ourselves, YAC! ahaah! can or not? you got any idea to save the name? hehe. its so sad to just abandon it. the what happens to youngambassadorsforchrist.blogspot.com? or youngambassadorsforchrist@gmail.com or groups.yahoo.com/youngambassadorsforchrist? huh? huh? huh?

Remember all the hype about merging and all, we had about 3/4 meetings about whether or not we should merge. well, in the end, we decided to err..not do anything about it. and plan a hi tea!:)

Mom: Chris dear, the church choir want more youths to join for the Easter midnight mass. I want you to go. Maybe they will stop disliking the other group of youths that you always join if you take part in some of their activities as well.

Chris: But I’m not interested in singing with the choir. I don’t want to go.

Mom: Chris, stop being so stubborn. You must give back to God. He has blessed you with so many talents. He has given you so much. Should you not honour Him by just going for this?
Chris: MOM!!!! I am already involved with the youth group. How many activities do you want me to do? There’s only so much I can do you know…

Mom: You’ve got so many. One more won’t hurt. You must go!

Chris: I don’t want to go! I won’t go!

Mom: Fine! If that’s the way you want it, then I’ll just go and sing myself. You always find a way to hurt me! Other kids listen to their parents. You are the only one who causes me so much grief. After everything I have done for you, you can’t even do one small thing for me!! Just goes to show how unappreciated I am in this house!

Chris: ALRIGHT!!!!!!! FINE!!!!!!!! I’ll go!

Mom: There we are! I knew you would agree! You are the best son anyone could ever ask for! I love you dear! (Kisses Chris’ cheek and walks off)

Chris: I’m the teenager…I’m the one who’s supposed to be irrational and unstable…But no…It’s just too much to ask for, isn’t it?

Victor: Hey man! Whats up with you lar? Look like as if the sky is gonna fall down or something…. What did your mother do now lar?

Chris: The usual lar…Nagged and nagged till my ears started bleeding. She made me join the church youths for midnight mass choir.

Victor: I thought the church youths didn’t like us…. and therefore refuse to acknowledge us…..

Chris: Precisely why I didn’t even want to join them right…. But my mother thinks she is Superwoman (In one damn dramatic tone….) and is trying to unite us to serve the Lord as one!

Victor: HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!! Your mother is more like Elektra lar… Both are assassins… Only thing is…Elektra uses sai daggers as weapons… your mother uses her nagging lar… Anyone with 10 feet will sure collapse one…. Lucky my mother never ask me to join the other group also… whew!!!

Chris: Yup! So true!! (Both do one damn complicated handshake and victor keeps doing the wrong thing…)

Chris: Dei!!! Do the handshake thingy properly lar!!! Aiyo….. (chris slaps 4 –head)

Mom: What are the both of you talking about? Must be gossiping about me isn’t it!

Victor: No, aunty!! I was trying to make Chris understand the importance of joining the other youths to sing at midnight mass! He is so stubborn sometimes. (in one dramatic tone…) He doesn’t understand the importance of being united and working together to spread the word of our beloved Lord! He also doesn’t understand your good heart and good intentions!

Mom: Oh Victor!! Why can’t Chris be more like you? You are so sweet and honest and ever ready to help out! Chris, learn some good values from Victor! Have some cookies, Victor! It’s fresh out of the oven! I’ll get you some Coke for being such a sweetheart!!!

(Mom walks out. Both start laughing like they are possessed)

Chris: My goodness…..You’re such a good liar lar! Must teach me you know!

Victor: Of course! My good looks are also a plus point to make your mother believe me! Heheheheheh…………

Rock On vs Ante Up

Mmm... So why should we go with 'Rock On' instead of 'Ante Up'?...

1- If the objective of this concert is to evangelize, might as well make it as Christian as possible, right?

2- Since our theme is gonna be “In God We Rock,” doesn’t the song say all?

3- Sure, Ante Up's beat is catchy, so is Rock On (fret not, it's not pop)

4- Rock On's a Christian song- clean words, meaning and all... Ante Up's saying what?

5- Opening the audience's eyes to the various types of Christian songs available... Let em realize the array of genre we have under Christian songs. Who said that Christian songs had to sound so hymnly?

6- What would the audience's impression on us be if they knew what the song originally meant? Edited, maybe, but the meaning may still be there in the audience’s mind. Moreover, it's our first time having a concert on big scale, first impression always count. I'm sure we'd like to organize more concerts in years to come, right?

Ante Up does sound better in terms of the beat, but it's always better safe than sorry... I don’t mean to stir up any complications, but I’d really prefer to be on the safer side... And yes, I still do love Ante Up; am not condemning it nor have I anything against it, please understand that... Peace!!!

Oliver, the song u need to download and speed up is called "Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory)" by the artist M.O.P PLease download the CLEAN version. I tried speeding it up on my Media PLayer by using the Play Speed settings but couldnt save it since I tak tahu macam mana.
The original speed on the Media Player is 1.000 but I sped it up to 1.092... I dont know if that made any sense but if it did, I'm glad. If it didnt, SO sorry..... :$ not very computer savvy here...

Alrighty fellow dancing girls!!! I just called Anna Liza Frank last night and she said she CAN TEACH US MOVES FOR BOTH ANTE UP AND TAKE IT TO THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!! She is willing to help us get some kick-ass (i love that term!) choreography! The only thing is, she works like...24/7 but there are two solutions to that problem.

Solution no 1: We change dance practice from Sunday morning to Sunday EVENING/NIGHT
Solution no. 2: She will come to my house and teach me the routine and I will teach you what
she taught me.

Either way works. The good thing is, I get TWICE the practice/workout and I can teach you guys. Roberta, PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE SONG! ITS ALREADY PERFECT AND CHANGING IT NOW WILL RESULT IN MORE CONFUSION. SERIOUSLY, WE CAN MAKE THIS WORK!!! PLEASE DONT CHANGE THE SONG!!!!!! PLEASE???????? :(

Hey Oliver... Please post the concert's playlist on the blog so that all of us will have a rough idea on what we'll be dealing with.

And to the dancers, Dominic found this song called 'Rock On' by KJ-52... I think that we can dance to it instead of Ante Up and it suits our theme... Also think that it's easier to choreograph steps for this song rather than Ante Up... Plus, it's a Christian song! So no worries of what is coming out from the artiste's mouth. Mmmm...

thought of sharing this with everyone here...*edited from my own journal*

*i predict a long post today....as i have nothing else better to do!*

hall-hunting day...for YAC concert..
as oliver and hazel has already described the day....now its my turn(the long winded version..)...muahahahhahahaha(evil laugh)
anywayz...i went hall-hunting today with my fellow YAC-ians-Hazel, Oliver, Roberta & Dominic..5 of us all packed in Oliver's sports car..hahaha....it did sounded like one...!

anyways...back to the story, i, i mean we went to Dewan Sivik in PJ to check out the hall...

the hall there is so buruk and usang, and its like haunted...haha..not to mention smelly..and its like RM2500++ without a technician and without equipments all...so sucky...haih...and when she mentioned we have to pay RM75 for electricity, the electricity in the office sudddenly went off...hahahahha...so farny...it makes them look so bad...so we went off...

since this hall was a cut-throat...we went to Taylors...Oliver got so excited! hahaha...i wonder why...its just taylors...hehe...
so yeah, went there...meet the hall people..and they said that we could book the hall but we need to write a letter to the principle asking her...its about RM750++ with a technician and sound system...! yay! we got our hall..now all we need to do is write a letter....and hazel's starting on it i suppose...
so yeah...after that we went lepak-ing in Taylors...went to mcdees with hazel for lunch....Oliver met all his friends....actually everyone else met everyone else there..haha...i din meet anyone...haih...hehe...everyone i know there has left..all the SAM people...i din see chui shan or les or joyce or gai tho...diff block maybe...
we ate lunch(again!they ate, i drank only...) with Shaun(sp?), May-lynn, poh-lynn, Jia huan..and another friend of theirs..

after that we bid goodbyeeee...and headed to Bangsar Sports Complex.checked out the dancing hall...it is nice...but too far larr....no transport...haih..
we wanted to go to the Curve, but oliver took the wrong turn...and we ended up in segambut...then from there...we wanted to go to hartamas, but then we took the wrong turn again..and went to Jalan Kuching...and went back to Kepong..and finally we made our way to The curve from kepong using LDP! hahahahhaha....BIG round..

All of them never been there...so we went there to visit..haha..took some pictures..! well at least we took some...!

well, I found some music. Chris N downloaded it for me. So, now we have Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory) by M.O.P to dance to. We also have Take It To The Floor by B2K. Both songs are cool and cun. However, we need to speed up the beat of Ante Up becoz the soundtrack version is SLOWER than the bits used in the movie. Other than the muscle ache after doing some silly stuff with Roberta, everything is fine! See you guys this sunday at 10 AM SHARP. We got short meeting and practice later. Aunty marge will collect the keys at 12.30, so we need to work fast. I suggest we change the concert date to a later one because we REALLY NEED TIME TO PRACTICE. Also, my cousin who is an organist/guitar player in St. Anne's Klang, said he might be able to hook us up with a lead male vocalist. What do u guys think? If you want, I can ask. 1. Venue : YMCA Hall , Brickfields. (i think this is more no-questions-asked-ish)

2. For Enquiries. The q & u have developed an attraction for each other. In light of this being a religious concert, we hope they may be kept at proper distances from each other.

3. 15% percent of all profits will go charity. "profits" is a questionable word. It should be :

"15% of all Proceeds will go To Charity"

OKIE. i think we cannot meet on friday. Oliver is not free probably. So why dont we meet on thursday instead? is 6.30 still a good time? I dont know whether to come or not, since I dont have anything to do. I'll call Melvin and let him know abt Friday since he said he has some good christian rock songs. I have already found out my college intake dates. Will talk abt them later. Who is going 2 be our male vocalist? We havent found one yet, unless victor is going to blow us away with his skills.... I designed two banners (fine....with the help of some designing program) but the problem is, I dont have enough ink to print it out. The first one is all black and the 2nd one uses the YAC logo on this blog. Its very colourful but very hard to print out since there is a very large variety of colours on the letter YAC. But hey, I'll find a way. And does anyone know how to change a file fo jpeg format????? Help me then!

Btw, karen...is it possible for u to skip LSS? It will be so much more fun at the center! Should the guys who are involved with the music oso come? IF yes, then see u on friday at 6.30 pm at the center. Do I need to come???

For those of you who dont already know, carmillia called her friend Vima from Qings and Kueens. He has agreed to play at our concert for FREE IF we are really going to donate to charity. To me, its a great idea because it will draw the crowds. This also means we are going to have to put on a kick-ass concert. When are you guys starting practice? Hope its this week because we dont have much time left.

i was reading the bible that day in the hospital cos my mum brought this pocket bible with her. i read the book of psalms and its really nice...it has all kinds of prayers...i knew that, but i never realised that it really could helps when im sad or worried. now i know where to find help, the book of all books! the bible!

HAZEL HERE!

Ok, lets see.... As of now, we officially have TWO drummers. Oliver's friend, Ryan has said that he would like to join us for dis concert and Kenneth wong's guitar teacher has also said that he can play the drums with us. So, we now have two drummers to chooose from. Well, variety is always good. Karen, Chris N and I have some songs in mind which we will discuss on Sunday. Also, meeting on sundays alone are not enough. We might have to start meeting on weeknights too. We will HAVE to resolve all the issues this sunday as we need to start assigning work to EVERYBODY. So, I shall see you all this sunday. Now, good bye! I am going to watch Zoe Busiek: Wild Card.

Hello there everyone... about the news from Oliver.. Drummer

Hey! Oliver said that his drummer friend wants to join our concert! Thats very good news for us! His name is Ryan and he'll be drumming along with us soon. I have not been able to write anything regarding the DVS 1 (devil) and the Glorious 1 (God) along with the Lost Soul (chris)
due to massive case of Writer's Block and also with the fact that all my friends are going to colleges of their choices while I have to go to where ever it is I am supposed to go. heh....

If anybody has an extra supply of creative juices, please do share some with me.. I am in suchmajor trouble here. There will be a meeting on the 23rd of January 2005 for the YACs in the SOY ctr. Please come. We'll try to get our stuff right. Bye for now since this is quite long enough.
